MOS Hamilton Committee Opportunities

motionball Hamilton needs your help! We’re looking for passionate young professionals to join the 2019 motionball Marathon of Sport Hamilton Organizing Committee!

Opportunities Include:

Team Relations Coordinator: Responsible for recruiting standard and corporate teams to participate at Marathon of Sport. Team Relations Coordinator will also be responsible for team relations and communicating event details and key fundraising messages to team captains. Team Relations Coordinator will work with the ED/National Office Lead to register teams online.

Local Sponsorship Coordinator: Responsible for recruiting local organizations that are looking to give back to the community to sponsor Marathon of Sport. These local organizations will have opportunities that include but are not limited to Sport Station Sponsor, Breakfast Sponsor, and After-Party Sponsor. A full sponsorship package with an outline of opportunities will be provided from National Office. Local Sponsorship Coordinator will work alongside the ED and National Office to ensure all invoices are paid and all agreed dividends are met on-site and pre- and post-event.

Fundraising Initiatives Coordinator: Responsible for coordinating a variety of additional revenue-generating initiatives for the event to supplement traditional donation fundraising. Examples of alternative fundraising projects for on-site include a raffle or hosting a 50/50 draw. The Fundraising Initiatives Coordinator will also be tasked to think of other creative ways for participants to generate donations (i.e. host a BBQ, coordinate an office dress down day, etc.) and share with the ED to pass along to team captains.

Special Olympics Athletes Coordinator: This individual(s) will work closely with the local Special Olympics chapter to ensure there will be enough athletes at Marathon of Sport (1 athlete per team). They will also ensure that the SO Athlete Registration online form is completed by all participating athletes in advance and on event day. The SO Athlete Coordinator will also be available to assist the SO Rep with any incoming questions from athletes and/or parents. They will be onsite throughout the event to support with registration, introducing the athletes to their team captains and will act as the point of contact along with the SO Rep (if applicable) if the athletes have any issues throughout the day.

Event Logistics Coordinator: Responsible for assisting the ED execute logistical elements of Marathon of Sport. This includes organizing sports equipment, coordinating AV equipment (if applicable), venue logistics, after-party coordination (if applicable), coordinating set up and tear down logistics, etc.

After-Party Coordinator: Responsible for securing a venue for the After-Party and managing all venue relations. This includes ensuring Molson-Coors product is available, coordinating “included” participant drink + other free options, managing drink tickets, encouraging participants to attend, coordinate a door prize or other revenue generating initiatives (if applicable), etc.
